To help improve the understanding of corporate governance reform in developing countries, the Global Corporate Governance Forum has commissioned a series of discussion papers. These papers discuss key issues raised by a series of regional corporate governance research network meetings organized by the Forum. The meetings support corporate governance research and policy discussion in developing countries. Comments on these papers are welcome and should be sent to the Global Corporate Governance Forum Secretariat, cgsecretariat@ifc.org. Discussion Paper 1: Corporate Governance and Family Control, Randall Morck, University of Alberta and Bernard Yeung, New York University, October 2003.
